200/300hr Program Overview
appleyoga's 200/300hr Program is run over three separate modules. The first two modules are open to all, with the final one aimed to those wishing to become a certified yoga teacher.

applecore I & II and the Level I Teacher Training have been designed to take the student/trainee teacher on a journey through three stages to deepen their yoga studies, leaving time for absorption and practice between each phase. Each module delivers a high-level technical skill set and cutting edge anatomical education, and also offers a profound, life-changing, and transformative experience. The modules are unique and each bring something new and exciting to the appleyoga's 200/300hr Program.

appleyoga Ltd is an accredited and registered Yoga Alliance school. On certification all hours of training go towards a Yoga Alliance UK & USA Training certification.

Modules:
applecore II - Attuning to the Inner Landscape

applecore I  is an opportunity to take an in depth look at the architecture of yoga poses, enlightened through the lens of anatomy and physiology. This module is the perfect way to develop and clean up your personal practice and offers a solid foundation to build upon in training to become a yoga teacher.
This module is suitable to all except beginners and requires a minimum of 6-12mths regular yoga practice.

applecore II  requires a gear shift from learning the practical application of the architecture of asana to focusing on mindfulness, yoga philosophy, the energy body, pranayama and voice work to create a more integrated and connected yoga practice. The content, enquiry and tools on offer in this module are essential in order to hold the space as a yoga teacher with integrity.
This module is suitable to all except beginners and requires a minimum of 6-12mths regular yoga practice.

Level I Teacher Training moves you from student to teacher. It will provide trainees with the tools and information to teach yoga with authenticity, clarity and knowledge. On this final module, trainees will be expected to bring their learning and assimilation from applecore I & II and gain experience channelling that into teaching.
This module is suitable only for trainee teachers and requires a minimum of 2-3 years regular yoga practice. (However we do review applicants on a case by case basis).

If you are training to become a yoga teacher then it is essential to complete the modules in the suggested order above.

FAQ

I don’t want to train to be a yoga teacher, can I do any of the 200/300hr Program?
Yes you can. The first two modules applecore I & II of the 200/300hr Program are open to those who wish to deepen their studies in yoga but aren’t wishing to teach.

If I did applecore I & II and then decided that I wanted to train to teach could I?
There is a set time frame of 18mths to complete the 200/300hr Program. If you are out of this parameter then there are certain requirements that will need to be met in order to complete your 200/300hr Program. For more information please contact us and we will be happy to discuss your options further.

How long do I have to complete the 200/300hr Program?
In order to qualify as a 200/300hr accredited yoga teacher all three modules must be completed within 18 months of your start date.

How do I know if I’m ready to do any part of the 200/300hr Program?
It is important to have a regular weekly practice of yoga in order to deepen your knowledge and gain maximum benefit from these trainings. The specific requirements are:
  • applecore I & II – Minimum of 6/12 months of regular practice is required.
  • Level I Teacher Training – It is advisable that there is a minimum of 2/3 years of regular practice, however we review trainees on a case by case basis.
  • You may be asked to come and take a class with Katy or another faculty member in order to get some feedback and acceptance on to the teacher training.

Do I automatically get the 200hr yoga teacher qualification if I attend applecore I & II and the Level I Teacher Training?
All teacher trainees must complete and pass a written exam, practical teaching assessment and the assigned omwork in order to gain the 200hr certification and an extra 100hr certification.

What happens if I can’t attend one day of the training?
In the event that full attendance is not possible, appleyoga allows for 3 missed days within the 200/300hr Program.
Missed sessions must be made up for certification of the training to be possible. These would be done through private catch up sessions with appleyoga faculty members. Private sessions must be completed within the course timeline. Private sessions will be charged at the rate offered by the relevant faculty member.
If a teacher trainee misses more than 3 days of the 200/300hr Program then certification will not be possible.

If I complete applecore I & II can I complete my teacher training with another yoga school?
All 200/300 hours must be completed with appleyoga in order to be certified as a yoga teacher.

Can I take part in the Level I Teacher Training if I don’t want to teach yoga?
This training is only suitable for students planning on teaching yoga.

Once I am a certified teacher will I be able to register as a yoga teacher with Yoga Alliance?
On certification of the full 200/300hr Program you will be able to register with Yoga Alliance UK as a 200hr Yoga Teacher as well as having 100hrs towards your 500hr certification, and with Yoga Alliance US as a 300hr Yoga Teacher.
For more information please visit Yoga Alliance & Yoga Alliance UK.

What support do I get from the faculty during the training?
If you are doing the full 200/300hr Program you will be allocated a mentor that can support you during your training.

How much time do I have to dedicate to the training outside of the contact hours?
If you aren’t training to be a teacher with appleyoga then there will be some pre-course reading to enjoy to fully benefit from the course work.
If you are training to be a teacher with appleyoga then a large amount of time is needed outside of the course hours to complete the Omwork that is set. Please note that there is time between each modules to complete these and mentors will be at hand to help, should it be needed.
A dedicated daily practice is expected for teacher trainees to improve and absorb the coursework, in order to fully benefit and grasp the information taught, in preparation to hold the seat of a yoga teacher.

Can I take the modules in a different order than suggested?
It is strongly advised to take the modules in the recommended order as they have been designed in a way that allows a progression from one to the next. However, applecore I & II could be taken in a different order provided they are both completed before taking the Level I Teacher Training. All three modules must be completed within 18 months to qualify as a yoga teacher trained with appleyoga.

How often do the trainings take place?
Our aim is to provide applecore I & II and Level I Teacher Training at least once a year.

If I complete the YA 200/300hr Program with appleyoga, will there be an opportunity to extend to the YA 500hr Program?
Yes if you have completed your YA 200/300hr Program then you are qualified to apply for the appleyoga YA 500hr Program and already have 100hrs towards this that you would have acquired during your 200/300hr Program. You can complete your YA 500hr Program by attending a further 200hrs of training with appleyoga made up of your selected modules. For more information look at the 500hr Program page.

Can a retreat count towards my training hours?
It will be stated inside of the retreat information if it is eligible to be counted towards the appleyoga training hours.
