Harriet Green Print E-mail
Harriet GreenAfter dancing all my life, and a brief but very hectic career in the world of performing arts...not only did i need something to  continue to satisfy my body's physical needs, but also something to ground and centre myself mentally and emotionally... I found Yoga... or yoga found me.

After completing my Yoga teacher training in 2002, I feel i am still on a wonderful journey...continuing my studies with a range of different teachers and experimenting with many different styles. I hope to inspire my students, as other teacher's have inspired me, and although my style is predominantly Hatha with some flow...be ready to join me on a journey...experimenting with our bodies, our breath and using Yoga to get to know ourselves a bit better.

Yoga gives me great Physical satisfaction, but also ...and more importantly, a! way of dealing with life's twists and turns. To nourish ourselves with breath and energy and to enjoy the simplicity of just being...the stillness and the peace that now allows me, and hopefully my students to live happily in this mad and wonderful world.

What are you inspired by?
The sun, the sky and my dear parents who are up there somewhere too.

Why yoga?
It has allowed me to lead a peaceful and happy life despite the things that are thrown at you. It provides an outlet for so much emotion and lets me feel free.

If Yoga did not exist what exercise would you turn to?
Dancing, however, whenever, wherever.

What music do you listen to?
African, South American, Cuban, Asian... anything with a funky drum beat that puts a smile on your face and makes you want to wiggle your bottom! And for a more chilled out day... the beautiful Jack Johnson.

Favourite Asana?
Downward dog and Headstand.

Hardest asana?
Peacock and shoulderstand.

Words of wisdom?
Rather taken by the ones of Dr Seuss at the moment..so if you haven't see them on this website... "be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don't matter and those who matter dont mind".

Ideal weekend?
A sunny day on a beach,  with a mad dog, my family and my delicious boyfriend... followed by good food and plenty of sleep...

Favorite food and drink?
Roast potatoes, mashed potatoes...mmmm...potatoes full stop and lovely dark green veggies And my vice...a glass of good red wine.

Dislikes?
Moaning....grumpy people...and mosquitoes.

Recommended Book?
"Flow" by Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi (pronounce that one!) and in complete contrast, "The Wind in the Willows" by Kenneth Grahame.
