Yoga Teacher Training Course Content
The contents of the course will be divided up into the following areas:

Main body of study (approx 140 hrs of course) with Katy Appleton and
appleyoga faculty
• detailed master classes to clean up and enhance self practice of asana, pranayama, meditation and kriya
• detailed asana technique classes to apply appleyoga's methodology ready to teach
• practical teaching time to enhance appleyoga's teaching skills
• appleyoga class layout and class planning
• learning applepods: lying pod, sun pod prep, standing pod, closing pod.
• learning how to teach beginners
• learning how to sequence classes with vinyasa krama & peak poses - using this to teach multi levels
• learning level one adjustments & appletouch to correct & enhance students practice
• understanding how to theme classes
• understanding body types and how to help
• music, intentions and poetry intergration for classes explained
• review time of course content
• assistance in assessments & Om work

Anatomy (approx 20hrs) - with Gary Carter & appleyoga faculty
• basic anatomy
• functional anatomy
• learning anatomy through Yamuna's body rolling

Mapping the Energy Body (approx 6hrs) with Katy Appleton
• mapping the energy body
• understanding the depth of the chakra system & nadis

Philosophy (approx 14hrs) with Leila Sadaghee & Lorin Roche
• the origins of yoga
• Yogic Timeline, a brief & clear outline of the 4 key yogic texts -
Upanishads, Bhagavad Gita, Yoga Sutras, Hatha Yoga Pradipika
• Radiant sutras - Lorin Roche's version
• Patanjalis yoga sutras
• 4 main paths in yoga - bhakti, raja, karma, jnana

Pranayama (approx 4hrs) with Katy Appleton
• understanding pranayama

• importance of breath

Meditation (approx 2hrs) with Lorin Roche
• finding a personal meditation practice
• steps to help

Kirtan (approx 3hrs) with Nikki Slade

Om Coursework & Assessments

• Three essays covering anatomy & physiology, philosophy and energy body

• Teaching lab practicals and a one hour final teaching practical

Katy Appleton
will deliver the main body of the course, covering: appleyoga's methodology, asana, pranayama, meditation and kriya techniques and practices; yoga masterclasses; applepods, sequencing, kramas and appletouch; teaching skills and class planning; business skills; anatomy and physiology movement and the energy body.

Leila Sadeghee will teach the subjects of yoga philosophy; ethics; anatomy and physiology from a body works perspective and will be providing mentoring support and overall input into the main body of the course and OM coursework.

Louisa Garnier will teach anatomy and physiology and will be providing mentoring support and overall input into the main body of the course and OM coursework.

Gary Carter will cover the core anatomy and physiology course component and will be assisting with the OM coursework.

Lorin Roche will explore meditation techniques and methods and will teach the philosophy of yoga.

Nikki Slade will share the history and essence of kirtan and mantra and will provide an immersion into this delightful world.
