appleyoga's teacher training offers you an integrated teaching style
designed by Katy Appleton to combine the fundamentals of both contemporary &
traditional yoga, functional anatomy and physiology, philosophy, vitality
and health.

6 Month Training Course Structure

This 6 month course is set over 11 weekends within a 6-month period, to
offer flexibility for busy schedules, but intensity of learning. We have
invited inspirational guest teachers who have a wealth of knowledge and
experience to share with you.

We also use unique teaching methods such as Yamuna Body Rolling to increase
your somatic awareness and specially designed applepod sequences that will
help you to create distinctive and effective classes.

This training is suited to people who are new to teaching yoga as well as
teachers who want to master the appleyoga approach.

You will finish the training:

• Ready to teach an 10 week hatha yoga beginner course
• Ready to teach dynamic vinyasa classes for multi-levels
• Knowing how to support someone with an injury
• With basic knowledge of the history and origins of yoga
• Having had an introduction to yoga philosophy to contextualize further
study
• With tools for working with one's own psychological and spiritual process
• With a deeper connection to your practice and how this informs your daily
life

Upon completion of this training, you will be invited to once-monthly
appleyoga teacher gatherings, to continue to support you on your journey,
and to deepen our appleyoga community.

This extensive and inspirational yoga education is complemented by a
mentoring system to help build self-confidence and assist you in facing the
challenges that we all experience in this beautiful thing called Life!

ONE LETTER OF REFERENCE with your application: We need a reference with your application, preferrably your yoga teacher, who should have a good knowledge of your practice and be able to comment on your standard or be able to give an assessment of your suitability for the course with a brief character reference. Alternatively a recent college tutor, employer or another yoga teacher that you may have attended class with to offer us an assessment of your suitabilty for the course with a brief character reference.

FIRST CHOICE REFEREE:
Yoga teacher [Unless you are a regular student of Katy Appleton, Leila Sageghee, Louisa Garnier or Gary Carter]

SECOND CHOICE REFEREE:
May be selected from the following suggested sources:
• Recent college/course tutor.
• Recent or Current Employer.
• Second Yoga Teacher with whom you have practiced for a regular period.

Applications are accepted on a rolling basis, and we do expect the course to fill up quickly. Once you have submitted your application, we will let you know whether or not you have been accepted within two weeks of the date your application (including your reference!) was received.

During this time we will review your application. If we have any questions or want to clarify anything, you may receive a phone call from one of us.

Once you have been accepted, we will send you an email requesting a non-refundable deposit of £500

Upon receipt of your deposit, we will send you an information packet that will include a course syllabus, location details, a book and materials list, and some pre-course homework to get you in the mood and prepare you for our time together!

The contents of the course will de divided up into the following areas:

Main body of study (approx 140 hrs of course) with Katy Appleton and

appleyoga faculty

• detailed master classes to clean up and enhance self practice
• detailed technique classes to apply appleyoga's methodology ready to
teach
• practical teaching time to enhance appleyoga's teaching skills
• appleyoga class layout and class planning
• learning applepods: lying pod, sun pod prep, standing pod, closing pod.
• learn how to teach beginners
• learn how to sequence classes with vinyasa krama & peak poses - using
this to teach multi levels
• learn level one adjustments & appletouch to correct & enhance students
practice
• understand how to theme classes
• understanding body types and how to help
• music intergration for classes explained
• review time of course content
• assistance in assessments & Om work

Anatomy (approx 20hrs) - with Gary Carter & appleyoga faculty
• basic anatomy

Mapping the Energy Body (approx 6hrs) with Katy Appleton

• understanding the depth of the chakra system & nadis
