The contents of the course will de divided up into the following areas:
Main body of study (approx 140 hrs of course) with Katy Appleton and
appleyoga faculty
• detailed master classes to clean up and enhance self practice
• detailed technique classes to apply appleyoga's methodology ready to
teach
• practical teaching time to enhance appleyoga's teaching skills
• appleyoga class layout and class planning
• learning applepods: lying pod, sun pod prep, standing pod, closing pod.
• learn how to teach beginners
• learn how to sequence classes with vinyasa krama & peak poses - using
this to teach multi levels
• learn level one adjustments & appletouch to correct & enhance students
practice
• understand how to theme classes
• understanding body types and how to help
• music intergration for classes explained
• review time of course content
• assistance in assessments & Om work
Anatomy (approx 20hrs) - with Gary Carter & appleyoga faculty
• basic anatomy
• functional anatomy
• learning anatomy through Yamuna's body rolling
Mapping the Energy Body (approx 6hrs) with Katy Appleton
• mapping the the energy body
• understanding the depth of the chakra system & nadis
Philosophy (approx 14hrs) with Leila Sadaghee & Lorin Roche
• the origins of yoga
• Yogic Timeline, a brief & clear outline of the 4 key yogic texts -
Upanishads, Bhagavad Gita, Yoga Sutras, Hatha Yoga Pradipika
• Radiant sutras - Lorin Roche's version
• Patanjalis yoga sutras
• 4 main paths in yoga - bhakti, raja, karma, jnana
Pranayama (approx 4hrs) with Katy Appleton
